What is Not found (404)?

If neither of these works, then you can try using Google Search Console to submit a request for the page to be re-indexed.

Google Search Console is a free service from Google that helps website owners troubleshoot issues with their sites. If you think the “not found” error on your site is due to a problem with how Google is indexing your pages, then you can use Search Console to submit a request for re-indexing. This process can take up to a week, so be patient and keep checking back until the issue is resolved.

How to fix Not found (404) with Google Search Console

If you’re getting Not found (404) errors in your Google Search Console, there are a few things you can do to fix them.

First, you go to Google Search Console,

After opening the Google Search console menu, on the lift side you have to go to the page option,

After clicking on the pages option, you will see a list of indexed and non-indexed pages,

In this menu, you can see the reasons why your pages were not indexed,

But in today’s article, we will talk about 404 pages,

As soon as you click on Not found (404), a list of unindexed pages and their URL will appear in front of you.

After opening not found (404) pages and their URL, you have to go to the Google search console main menu and there you will see the REMOVAL option under the Pages option.

Go to the Removal option and open it in a new tab by right-clicking on it.

You will see the option of temporary removal in front of you,

Now you have to copy the URL of all the pages one by one that is not indexed by Not Found (404), After clicking on New Request, a new window will open in front of you.

Here you have to paste the URL you copied, After clicking on next you will be asked to submit the request.

After submitting the request Your URL will be removed temporarily.

Google takes 24 to 48 hours to permanently remove this URL from your site.

This way you can remove all your not found (404) pages from your site.
